Refurb

January has flown by without too much of a hitch for us.  It’s been cold and damp outside but inside the salon we have remained positive and we’ve been experiencing good vibes only!!!  We are, of course, missing our Charlotte but we are very happy to hear that she is loving her new house and new life up north!

2018 feels like it’s going to be a very exciting year for William and Mary!  We have lots of plans in the pipeline and the year is looking to be our most ambitious yet and we are full of determination and focus for the months ahead.

We will be closing the salon for a week on 12th February (half term week for most of us) for a much needed and deserved refurb for the salon.  We will be having new floors and basins including one massage chair which we are very excited about.  We had big plans for the rest of the salon but after considering the logistics and timescale of works to be completed, we have decided to do the refurb in 2 parts so look out for refurb phase 2 towards the middle part of the year.  We all can’t wait to see the salon when phase 1 has been completed and we are sure you will all enjoy the salons new look.

With New Year being all about setting resolutions and goals for the coming year, we have decided to make 2018 the year of education for William and Mary.  We have pledged to take every opportunity to grow and learn this year which means that we have presented all our staff with an education plan for the whole year.  We have always embraced the culture of learning within the hairdressing industry and we intend to extend that a bit further this year by committing to several prestigious courses for our stylists.  This includes the much coveted Wella Colour Masters Programme for Callum, the highly regarded Sassoon Academy cutting course for Poppy and a number of colour courses at Wella World Studios in London for Tasha.

We are also continuing our opportunities for team building within the salon with our regular inhouse training with Mary, Wella, and Sebastian. We are all attending the Colourworld show in May in London which looks inspiring and sure to bring out all our creative sides! Emma and Mary are also attending Salon Smart in London in March so the year is looking to be busy, busy, busy!

Callum is also continuing his Barbering and has started on the level 3 course with Mike Taylor Education so he will be expanding on his already amazing set of barbering skills. As we all know, barbering has really taken off in the last few years and we are so proud to have our own qualified barber Callum who has trained with the best in the country and he really knows his gent’s hair!

Tasha is making so much progress with her hairdressing and her colouring is very impressive for an apprentice. We are proud to offer her as a colour option within the salon and her hard work and determination in 2017 has really meant that her 2018 has started with a bang!

We are still on the lookout for staff and we would love an experienced part time senior stylist and an apprentice to join our lovely team so if you or anyone you know are interested then please pop along to the salon or email your CV to info@wmhairandbeauty.co.uk!!!

Thanks to all our wonderful clients, staff, friends and family who continue to support us and here’s to an amazing 2018 for all!!!
