We love a good colour change at William and Mary and we also love the challenge that a major colour change presents us with.  Instagram and other social media sites along with celebrity press are having a big impact on hairdressing.  It seems the days of our clients presenting us with a magazine cut out of their new desired hair are long gone and now our clients are showing us screen shots on their phones of the hair they dream of.  Often these are shots from Instagram and we are faced with the dilemma of having to tell our clients that their desired look will not be achieved in just one salon visit.  Often, the shots are photo shopped and sometimes the hair is actually a wig, hence why so many celebrities appear to have many colour changes in such … Continue reading →

Well, this must be the hundredth time we have sat down to write our summer blog and it’s taken us so long that summer is nearly over!!! We’ve had a busy few months in the salon and our stylists have been working hard in the salon and also out of the salon attending training courses.  We have had lots of exciting developments in the salon and we are currently planning our 5th Birthday party on Sat 13th August!!!  We can’t wait for this event and the theme is Alice in Wonderland and all the staff will be in fancy dress.  We are raising money for The Sheiling Ringwood which is a charity close to our hearts and also close to the salon!!!  Here is some more information about the charity: The Sheiling Ringwood is based on the Dorset and Hampshire border and provides a rich, enabling and therapeutic learning environment for students aged 6-25 who have a special educational need, specialising in autism and communication difficulties, severe … Continue reading →

Wow what an amazing couple of months we’ve had. Usually January and February are quiet months but we’ve been busy making plans in the salon. We took on a new Wella range, which we were not allowed to reveal until we had full training from our friends at Wella. System Professional is a totally new range of products, which are tailored to each individual hair type and every one of our clients has a unique Energy Code that highlights specific products designed for their hair. January’s here and we are back on form after a few days rest following the Christmas rush! So much has happened during the Christmas period. We had a very busy December in the salon and we all got into the spirit of it! We participated in Text Santa and all wore our Christmas jumpers to work and we managed to raise £136 thanks to all our lovely clients and staff! We were busy with blow dries and hair ups for Christmas parties and we also found that Balayage / Ombre colour was very popular along with mid length restyles. We are happy to announce that Mary is returning from her maternity leave at the end of October! I’m sure some you will have seen her on her frequent visits to the salon whilst she’s been on leave and hopefully you have been lucky enough to see her lovely baby Elizabeth! Mary will be working part time on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. She is already getting booked up so please call the salon on 01425 480558 to avoid disappointment! As Mary is returning to work we have decided to have a get together to celebrate her coming back. It’s been a long time coming but finally here is our new issue of ‘salon gossip’. So much has happened in so little time and we have so much to tell you about!!! Mary had her baby on Friday 17th July at 13.13pm and mum and baby Elizabeth are doing really well! We are all in love with Elizabeth, she is very beautiful and a welcomed addition to the team. Mary is still on maternity leave and we will be informing you of her return date as soon as possible but for now she is obviously enjoying time at home with her precious new arrival. It’s been too long since we wrote our last blog, it’s been a busy Christmas and new year in the salon and we’ve got lots of exciting stuff to share with you. Firstly, Christmas feels like an age away but we had such a good festive time in the salon. We were very busy and everyone was full of festive cheer which made the busy times such good fun.
